For celebrating humanity with Diwali celebration the students of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Kitchlu Nagar, Ludhiana visited Swami Vivekananda Old Age Home on 14th oct,2017. Showing respect, love and compassion for the elderly, they presented many Diwali gifts to them. They became aware of the apathy that surrounds the old people. As the seniors began sharing their griefs and other experiences with the students, the students became emotional.
Giving new approach to Diwali celebration a seminar on ‘Green Diwali, Clean Diwali’ was also organized. Sensitizing the students to celebrate environmental safe Diwali major hazardous impacts of burning crackers were also pointed out.
This type of visits work as an initiative to teach children moral values by promoting ‘Sharing and Caring’ with elders -said Principal Mrs.Neelam Mittar.
