The Pathfinder Guidance & Counselling Cell is committed to fostering the psychological well-being, emotional resilience, social development and academic growth of every student. The Cell provides a safe, accessible and non-judgemental space where students can seek support, guidance and appropriate psychological intervention whenever required.
Core Objectives
Safeguarding Mental Health & Emotional Well-being
Promote psychological wellness, resilience and healthy emotional development among students.
Providing a Safe & Non-Judgemental Support System
Offer students a confidential and supportive platform to discuss personal, emotional, behavioural, social and academic concerns.
Early Identification & Intervention
Facilitate the timely identification of emotional, behavioural, adjustment and learning-related concerns, followed by appropriate intervention, monitoring and referral wherever required.
Career Guidance & Psychological Assessment
Provide structured career guidance through scientifically informed assessment of aptitude, interests, personality and individual potential.
Strengthening the School Support System
Build the capacity of teachers, parents and other stakeholders through sensitisation, orientation and psychological-awareness programmes.
Working Framework
Individual Counselling & Psychological Support
- One-to-one counselling and psychological support sessions
- Walk-in support as well as prior appointments
- Self-referral, teacher referral and parent referral
- Support for emotional, behavioural, social, interpersonal and academic concerns
- Follow-up and monitoring wherever required; appropriate escalation and referral for high-risk or specialised concerns
Group Counselling, Life Skills & Well-being Programmes
Age-appropriate group interventions, classroom sessions and workshops addressing:

Career Guidance & Psychometric Assessment
For students of Classes IX–XII:
- Career exploration and individual career counselling
- Aptitude, Interest and Personality Assessment
- Stream-selection guidance
- Subject and career pathway planning
- Information regarding emerging careers and professional courses
- Individualised guidance based on students' strengths, interests and aspirations
Parent–Teacher–Counsellor Collaboration
- Parent orientation and awareness programmes
- Teacher sensitisation and capacity-building workshops
- Consultation with parents and teachers, wherever appropriate
- Collaborative intervention planning for students requiring additional support
- Regular follow-up and review of identified concerns
Inclusive Psychological & Learning Support
- Psychological support for students with diverse learning and developmental needs
- Collaboration with the Special Education / Special Department
- Assistance in identifying individual learning requirements
- Support in developing and implementing appropriate Individualised Education Plans (IEPs)
- Coordination with parents, teachers and relevant professionals wherever required
Ethics, Confidentiality & Child Safeguarding
The Pathfinder Guidance & Counselling Cell follows professional ethical principles and applicable school and child-safeguarding protocols.
- Counselling interactions are handled with professional confidentiality.
- Student dignity, privacy and psychological safety are respected.
- Information is shared strictly on a need-to-know basis.
- Confidentiality may be appropriately limited where there is a concern regarding risk of harm, abuse, safeguarding or a serious threat to the student's safety.
- Appropriate referral and escalation procedures are followed in high-risk situations.

Prior appointments are welcome; walk-in support is also available.
Students may approach the Counselling Centre independently or may be referred by a Class Teacher, Branch Counsellor, Parent or School Management, depending upon the nature of the concern.
Every concern deserves to be heard. Every student deserves a safe space to be understood, supported and guided.
