Annual School Report 2022-23

 

A very warm and cheerful evening to all present here. On this inimitable occasion, I welcome the honourable Chief Guest, the members of BVM Trust and members of Governing Council of BVM, other distinguished guests and dear parents.
As we share the yearly updates of our curricular and co-curricular activities, we take the modesty to say that we did our best to do as we had planned and we are proud of our students who strive hard to achieve beyond expectations. We have always been committed to creating an environment in the school which helps the young mind to blossom and provide a platform for individual thinking and holistic development of the child's personality, as academic session witnesses repositioning, restructuring and refocusing.
 

Academic Achievements

 

Excellence in academics is the whole hallmark of a good Institution and the results of class Xth and XII prove without an iota of doubt that our students have made us proud. The key highlights of class 10th and 12th are:-
In the all India Secondary School examination 2022-23 , Class X - 294 students appeared, 41 students scored more than 90% marks . Harshita Bhanot stood first with 96.4%, Sakshi Gupta won second position with 95.6% and Manan Goyal bagged third position with 95. 4 marks.
In 12th commerce 159 students appeared and 11 scored more than 90 percent marks . Prachi Gupta bagged Ist position with 95.6%, Lagn Trighatia stood second with 95.4%marks, Pretty Kundra got 3rd position with 94.4% marks.
In Non- medical stream 57 students appeared and out of them 13 students got more than 90% marks . Satya Aggarwal with 96.6% marks got first position Harshita clinched second position with 96.2% marks and Garv Verma and Shefali Tiwari bagged 3rd position with 94.4% marks.
In Medical stream 48 students appeared and five students got more than 90% marks . Riya Sharma scored 92.8% for 1st position ,Ruchira Kapoor clinched second position with 92.6% marks and Kashish Verma stood 3rd with 90.8% marks.
 

Curricular and Co Curricular Activities

 
Every activity in school life plays a significant role in a child's development. Co curricular activities are an essential part of school life. Through these activities we strive to bring in social and intellectual skills, moral values and character appeal in our students.
* In State Level group song competition (junior),Tanush ,Pankti ,Avadh ,Guradab deep,Parth
 
* Bhomit , Chirag , Divyanshi and Gomti bagged third position.
 
*Our School dance team won 3rd prize at the State Level Competition.
 
*Riya Waliya bagged second position in solo classical dance
 
* In Confluence 2022 organised by DAV Public School Manya Gupta won 2nd prize in Mix Media, Diya Sharma clinched 3rd prize in Karoke -solo singing competition, Aniket won 3rd prize in Paper Filigree.
 
* Divyanka Lamba grabbed 1st position in G.S. Memorial Inter School Festival 2022.
 
* By showcasing the creativity, Aanya won Cash prize of 5000 Rs and 2500 Rs in Poster making organised by PCTE in 2022 and 2023 respectively.

Celebrations

 

At our esteemed institution, the dawn of each new academic session is started with the reverent Havan,a ritual that symbolises the purification of knowledge and illumination of young minds.
Apart from this, different festivals were celebrated: Lohri, Baisakhi, Teej, Janmashtami, Raksha Bandhan, Dussehra and Diwali, Republic Day, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Teacher's day, Mother's Day , Labour Day ,Emoji Day and Hindi Diwas.
 
To commemorate the birth anniversaries of our genteel leaders like Swami Vivekanandji, Sardar Vallabhai Patel, Dr. CV Raman and other Gurus, some special celebrations were  organised.
 
Ten days Summer workshops of dance, music-vocal and instrumental, practice of mathematics, creative art and painting, home decor, mehandi, nail art, personal care, bhangra, web designing, personal grooming, cooking figured prominently in the session's curriculum.
 

Sports heat

 

Hundreds of students of our Alma Mater participated in sports like handball Football, Volleyball, Badminton, Swimming, Yoga , Wrestling,  Judo, Tennis ,Carrom, Chess and Weightlifting brought Laurel to their institute.
In session 2022 to 23 the students got startling success with the 43 gold medals 19 silver medals and 24 bronze medals at Zonal, District , State, and National level
In Khedan Watan Punjab Diya, our players won cash prize of Rupees 72000
 
Vani Puri bagged the silver medal and won a cash prize of Rupees 19000 in first Khelo India youth women National ranking weightlifting and rupees 20000 at Punjab Bhawan Mohali .
In under 19 Handball State Level Aahana, Idhi, Pawni, Koshiki and Sukriti won first position.
In under 19 handball state level Lakshmikant, Gurdeep ,Amreshwar, Krish,Keshav bagged third position.
 
In the under 14 handball state level, boys won silver medals.
 
Paras Chadda got selected for National level handball training camp.
 
In the International Karate Championship held at 2023-24 held at Malaysia, Abhinav clinched second position and Navdeep bagged 3rd position.
 
Yukta Agrawal got third position in state level sqay martial art.
 
Ishika and Aakriti Narang Won third position in state level yoga championship.
 
Ayush, Ansh , Aarush Ravleen, Vani, Simardeep and Mannat participated in Fistball National.
 
Aastha and Anshika clinched silver medals in badminton at state level.
 

Atal Tinkering lab

 

ATL lab has been established at our school under the ATL innovation mission of the Niti Ayog . Our ATL lab is where imagination and invention collide birthing the extraordinary. In the sequence of the events-
 
In Robothon under Techno fest 2022, Parikshit Sharma won first position.
 
Tanmay Prashar exhibited his innovative mind and won 2100 cash in space Technology competition.
Parikshit Sharma and Madhav Sharma won third prize in, Inter-school competition of science and technology.
 
Our ATL team Got selected in top 75 schools throughout India by the Atal innovation mission.
 
Srishti and Sakshi Got selected in the top 10 team from the state Punjab ATL marathon.
 
Akshat Bhatnagar received Vivo ignite science and innovation award 2023 as zonal winner of north.
 
Harshit Gupta and Delisha Srao has been selected for an Inspire Award of Rs. 10000 for their prototypes.
 
 

Yoga day
 
Yoga day was celebrated with great fervour. Different yoga Asanas were taught by the school yoga instructor Mr. Kashmiri Lal . students as well as teachers practised the asanas during the session.
 

Language Lab
 
English Language lab was successfully set up and a training program for the same is facilitated to the teachers . However , a periodical visit of students is carried to the lab to strengthen their expertise in English. Besides this, French language is also introduced in our school.
 
 

Educational Tours and Field Trips
 
Learning by doing is a great way to learn. Students of classes 6 to 8 were taken to Virasat Khalsa and Maple Jungle located at Anandpur Sahib to learn about the rich heritage of Sikhism and their sacrifices for the community.
 
 

Professional Development Program for Teachers
 
Every academic year, training, seminars and orientation programmes are conducted for teachers and students to improve and implement innovative ideas in teaching learning practices as well as to take students beyond their cultural level of learning.
In house seminars were conducted as well as Resource persons from outside the school were also deputed for training the teachers.
 
Also in accordance with the New Education Policy our school is changing the names of primary sections for the upcoming session 2024-25
Nursery will be Bal Vatika 1
LKG will be Bal Vatika 2
UKG will be Bal Vatika 3
 
 

Special Achievements
 
Shri Harjot Singh Bains honourable Education Minister, Punjab awarded State Level Overall Swachhtta Puraskar under Secondary Urban Area .Five Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar 2022

were awarded by Smt. Surbhi Malik IAS deputy commissioner Ludhiana and Sri Amit Kumar Panchal IAS.
 
 

Special Highlights
 
Not only our students ,also our teachers have been making our school proud. Our honourable Principal
Mrs. Neelam Mittar received the Avantika Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam award in 2022.
 
Mrs. Shelly Sharma, art and craft teacher, won first prize in decoupage under GS Memorial 2022.
 
Atal innovation mission honoured Mrs. Kamal Kapil with the title - Exemplary and Regional teacher of change.
 
Mr. Vinod Chauhan won the gold medal in the javelin throw.
 

Conclusion
 
BVM is truly blessed to have a team of extremely dedicated, devoted and diligent people who leave no stone unturned to take their school to the heights of glory. I am no less blessed to lead this wonderful team. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity of being able to recognize each one's effort. I place on record my sincere thanks to the esteemed Chief Guest and gracing the occasion. I wholeheartedly 'thank you' the school trust and managing committee members for their unflinching support, encouragement and motivation. I am extremely proud of the parents of BVM for their constant support and keen interest in school activities and I would like to appreciate my team of teaching, non teaching and support staff without whom it would not be possible to run the institution.
