Faridkot, December 14: Mr Surjeet Verma, a passionate Physical Education Teacher at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Kitchlu Nagar, Ludhiana, brought glory to the school by winning a silver medal in the State-Level "Kheda Watan Punjab Diya 2024" Taekwondo Championships, Season 3, held at Nehru Stadium.
Competing in the under 78 kg weight category and 31-40 age group, he showcased exceptional talent. He won his first match against Hoshiarpur and continued his impressive performance with a victory against Jalandhar in the second match. In a fiercely contested final, he secured the second position after a tough match against Faridkot.
The championship witnessed the participation of 300-350 players across Punjab, making the competition highly competitive. Mr Surjeet was also awarded a cash prize of ₹7000 for his stellar performance.
Principal Mrs Ranju Mangal expressed her pride in Mr Surjeet’s achievement, calling it a testament to his dedication and passion for sports. She congratulated him for bringing honor to the school and inspiring students to strive for excellence.
