BVM celebrated Lohri and Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda
High skilled exuberance was witnessed today in the premises of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Kitchlu Nagar, Ludhiana during celebration of long awaited bonfire festival of Lohri. The students were seen relaxing and enjoying traditional Punjabi songs and tappe. There was a perfect amalgamation of rhythm, feel, joy and mood of festivity. Providing knowledge about the celebration of the day, speeches, skits and mini acts were staged familiarizing all with legends associated with Lohri. On this cheerful festival of Punjab, students displayed the great grandeur of the day by demanding Lohri. The students were also messaged not to use China Dor while flying kites because of its harmful effects. Focusing on women empowerment and equal rights, a skit on Dhiyan Di Lohri was the main attraction of the celebration.
·        Celebrating the Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda- A key figure in the introduction of Indian Philosophy a special session was organized for making the students familiarize with the spiritual guide of the country. As the harmony of all religion accomplished in his life’s endeavors, short incidents of Swami ji’s life and his teachings were shared with the students by speeches and poems. In sketch making competition on Swami Vivekananda Ji Tushar, Rajat and Akshita of VIII standard showed their artistic excellence. Performance of Manpreet,Tripti and Harshita in Poster Making Competition got all appreciations.
 
·         In furtherance of the initiative of contributing towards safety of the students, a lecture on road safety was also administered. Tips regarding proper use of seat belts, helmets, traffic rules and road signs benefitted the students regarding safety measures.
 
Principal Neelam Mittar congratulated all on this festival of togetherness and motivated the students to protect their cultural heritage and not to use Chinese dor.
